Dr Ismail Ghita graduated from University of Strathclyde, Scotland, United Kingdom with PhD in Metallurgy and BSc from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. He also gained a professional Graduate Diploma in Education from Faculty of Education, University of Strathclyde. Dr Ghita has over 25 years of proven experience in Education and initial Teacher Education and CPD delivery. He also has been heavily involved in the design of programs and courses for international teachers, particularly in the Middle East.

Dr Mohamed Khater holds a BSc degree in systems and biomedical engineering, an MSc in artificial intelligence applications in neuroscience, and a PhD in strategic management and leveraging of competences from the University of Cambridge.
He has worked for a number of years with the United Nations Organization, and has been a consultant for several biomedical, software, and telecom companies. He is currently a senior research associate with the University of Cambridge and heads the Programme for Management, Policy, and Innovation in the MENA Region.
Dr Khater currently holds a number of positions with non-for-profit organisations including: Strategic Planning Officer for Investors without Boarders (IWOB), Head of Treasury and Planning for the Egyptian Educational and Research Organisation in the UK, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Innovation Network, and Chief Advisor on Strategic Planning for the Arab Science League. He is a member of the board of directors of a number of venture capital firms operating globally.

Dr Moataz Attallah

Dr Moataz Attallah


Dr Moataz Attallah is a lecturer in advanced materials processing at the School of Metallurgy and Materials, University of Birmingham. He received his BSc and MSc from the American University in Cairo in mechanical engineering and materials/manufacturing engineering, respectively, and his PhD from the University of Birmingham in Metallurgy and Materials Science. His research focuses on developing a metallurgical understanding for the phase transformations, microstructure-property and residual stress development due to additive manufacturing (blown powder and selective laser melting), friction-welding (friction stir, linear and rotary friction welding), and powder metallurgy of aerospace metallic materials, using electron microscopy and neutron/synchrotron X-ray diffraction.
He currently leads the 32-member strong advanced materials and processing laboratory (AMPLab), with a total grant portfolio approaching £67m from EPSRC, EU, TSB/KTP, and industrial collaborations. Dr. Attallah is also the academic leader for netshape manufacturing theme at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC).

Dr Mohamed Abdel-Wahab is a UK-based academic and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy based at the School of Built Environment (SBE) at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Prior to his current post, he worked as a Lecturer in Construction Project Management at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Born in Egypt, he graduated with a BSc in Construction Engineering from the American University in Cairo (AUC) and then earned an MSc in Construction and Property Management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. He then completed his Doctor of Engineering (EngD) at the Centre for Innovative and Collaborative Engineering (CICE) at Loughborough University. His EngD, which is an industry-based doctoral programme, was co-sponsored by the EPSRC and ConstructionSkills (The Sector Skills Council for Construction).

His teaching/research experience falls broadly in the area of Construction Management, and more specifically: construction technology, skills and training, performance and productivity, labour market issues, low carbon technologies (LCTs), in addition to the application of VR/AR, and motion tracking for construction training.

She has a track record of engaging, influencing and leading teams to consistently deliver. She has recently focused on Health Promotion and is keen to pursue research opportunities in this field.
Dr El-Batrawy has a track record of academic achievement having studied two courses at Masters Degree level at the University of Edinburgh and Robert Gordon.

HDr Hatem holds a PhD in International Business and Strategic Entrepreneurship from the University of Edinburgh Business School; she also held a BSc in Engineering and an MSc in Management from the American University in Cairo.

Prior to her academic career she established a diversified group of companies; to include a number of manufacturing and international trading firms that extended services to cover African, European and South American countries. She completed executive education at Harvard and MIT in Leadership and Strategic Management.

Dr Hatem lectures at the University of Edinburgh Business School in the fields of entrepreneurship, strategy and international business with specific interest in emerging markets. Her research interests includes: International, Strategic and Portfolio Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets; High Growth and Rapid Internationalization of Multinationals from the Emerging Market of the MENA region.

Currently, she lectures at University of Edinburgh Business School in the areas of entrepreneurial challenge: new venture creation, international entrepreneurship, family business and entrepreneurial opportunities in Africa.
